Nancy Hughes has the ability to capture her audience and hold them throughout her testimony. She has a unique way of witnessing from the bottom of her heart as she reaches right out and touches your own.
The women of my church and community are still talking about the Christian message Nancy shared with us at our Maundy Thursday Ladies brunch nearly three months ago. One moment Nancy had our group laughing, the next crying, as she led us through her personal challenges and growth. So many sought her out afterward to introduce themselves and to let her know how her story connected with the struggles in their own lives.
Nancy inspired us to delve even more into God's word. She is witty, delightful, sincere and has the ability to speak to each and every one of her listeners. We can't wait to hear her again.

This book shares vignettes of several women who have "joined the Widowhood Club" in various ways -- sudden, unexpected deaths -- prolonged deaths -- deaths due to accident -- deaths due to disease. From each woman's story, Nancy draws out some "dos" and "don'ts" for the widow and those who love her. Some things are very basic -- "Remember to drink to stay hydrated.". Others are things people do or say with every good intention, but are, at the least, not helpful, and in many ways hurtful to the grieving widow.
I have not experienced membership in this club, but this book gave me insight into the thoughts and feelings of those who are members. As my title says, I believe the book is as beneficial to those of us who surround a widow in the time of her loss.
